Annual Meeting
Potential Choir Members
St. Nicholas Cathedral Choir welcomes new singers. Please contact sergeromanchak@gmail.com if you are interested in singing with us. Rehearsals are held on Mondays at 7PM in the church choir loft. You are welcome to come and observe a rehearsal if you would like before you commit. Please introduce yourself to Choir Director Serge Romanchak so you can meet other choir directors and singers. Our schedule of services is demanding so we always need singers of all voice parts. When you make the commitment to join the choir please give your name and email address to a choir director to add you to the choir email list so you can fully participate. Thank you.

The Metropolitan's Own, we are a single choir united in our support of all prayerful services at St. Nicholas Cathedral. Our goal is to add to a peaceful and reverent atmosphere for the prayerful askings of the St. Nicholas congregation. To this end we gather as one and strive to sing as one marking the unity of the Holy Spirit with the faithful.

In 2003 our choir completed a recording of a Pascal season Hierarchical Divine Liturgy (in English) entitled 'This Is The Day'. "This is the Day' is available through the OCPC (https://secure.oca.org/OCPCIndex.asp?SID=16) or for orders of more than ten copies and for bookstore discounts, please contact the church office at office@stnicholasdc.org.
If you have interest and commitment, you, too, can be one of "those who labour and those who sing" in Slavonic and in English. Please join us at our practices on  in the Church basement where we practice making our "joyful noise."  (Rehearsals have been suspended for the summer.)
The St. Nicholas Cathedral Choir has a history commensurate with its stature as the Choir of the National Cathedral of the Orthodox Church in America. From appearances in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, guest performances, and recordings, we hope to continue to represent our church with the grace afforded to us from above.
We regularly participate in National and Diocesan services and events. In 1998 we were guest performers at the annual St. Tikhon's Founders' Banquet attended by HIs Beatitude. Metropolitan THEODOSIUS, then primate of the OCA and His Holiness, ILYA II, Patriarch-Catholicos of Georgia.

We had the extreme pleasure of praying with them and the several hundred pilgrim's who made the trip to St. Tikhon's Seminary at Divine Liturgy the following day.
We have been blessed with exceptionally talented Conductors who consistently gave of themselves for the betterment of others and to further the work of the church. Our former conductors include Mr. Vladimir Morosan and Mr. Constantine Pavlov, Serge Boldirev (pictured) and Matushka Anna Borzakovsky. Special thanks also go to the years of hard work and devotion by Andrea Lutov and Gregory Oleynik in conducting a great number of our services in our church. In June of 2005 we welcomed choir director, Ken Kasovac from Phoenix, Arizona who remained with us through October of 2007.

Special recognition must be given to Nicholas Borodulia, music director at St. Nicholas Cathedral from 1956 to 1986, who, through his unusual ability and devoted efforts, established the foundation of excellent choir singing at our church. May his memory be eternal!
